KOTTAYAM:Five senior students of the Govt nursing college here were arrested for subjecting first-year students to brutal ragging.
The five students were also suspended from college on Wednesday. The arrest was based on the complaint from three first-year students.
According to the complaint, they were being ragged by the seniors from November last year.
The complaint also says that they were stripped naked and dumbbells were hung from private parts.
They were also stabbed with geometry box compasses, and lotions were rubbed on the wounds. The complaint also says that cream was smeared on the face, head, and mouth.
The seniors also took money from the juniors on weekends for buying liquor. They were also subjected to physical torture regularly.
Three junior students gave the complaint based on the directions from their parents. Gandhi Nagar SHO T Sreejith is heading the probe.
