A team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE) won the first prize at Anveshana 2025, a national-level project championship organised by the Agastya International Foundation in association with Synopsys, Bengaluru. The event was held from February 27 to March 1.
A release said the competition witnessed over 550 innovative project submissions with 51 teams from engineering colleges in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu getting selected for the grand finale.
Four teams from MITE, representing the Departments of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, were among the finalists.
Anveshana is a science and engineering national-level project competition for undergraduate engineering students with elimination at multiple levels. The teams are required to include government high school students and mentor them in the creation of models while inducing knowledge and confidence in them.
The project ‘Smart Locking Mechanism for Agricultural Sprinkler System’, developed by MITE students Prakyath, B.V. Manoj Kumar, Dhanush and Deekshith K. Gowda, along with high school students Prayag and Darshith from Shri Subramanya Swamy Government High School, Kadandale, Moodabidri, won the first prize. The project was guided by Shivaramu H.T. and Vignesh Nayak U. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
MITE chairman Rajesh Chowta congratulated the winning and qualifying teams.
