The accused is married and the father of two children. A court here has remanded him in three-day police custody. Police have found a mobile phone, a laptop, and jewellery belonging to Himani from the accused. These valuable items were recovered from his mobile repair shop at Kanonda village in Jhajjar.
On March 1, police found Himani’s body stuffed inside a suitcase near Sampla bus stand on the Rohtak-Delhi highway.
Addressing the media here, Rohtak range additional director general of police (ADGP) Krishan Kumar Rao said Sachin had killed Narwal with the help of a mobile phone charger following an altercation at her house on Feb 28.
“The accused came in touch with Narwal through social media one and a half years ago. He frequently used to come to her house in Rohtak for six-seven months. On Feb 27, around 9 pm, Sachin visited Himani’s house in Vijay Nagar and stayed with her overnight. The next day, an argument ensued between them over an unknown issue. As tempers flared, Sachin tied Himani’s hands with her dupatta and strangled her with the cable of a mobile phone charger. Then he stuffed her body into a suitcase along with a quilt, which had blood stains,” the ADGP said.
He said Sachin then stole her mobile phone, a laptop, and jewellery, and shifted these items to his mobile repair shop at Kanonda village in Jhajjar.
“The accused also used Himani’s scooter to transport the stolen items. Then, he returned to Himani’s house. On the night of February 28, he boarded an auto from Vijay Nagar in Rohtak for the Delhi bypass in the city. From there, he boarded a bus for Sampla (nearly 26 km). Thereafter, he went on foot for nearly 80 metres and threw the suitcase in the bushes,” the police added.
