One more student from Thamarassery in Kozhikode has been taken into custody in connection with the death of Mohammed Shahabas, a Class X student from a government-aided school at Elettil in the district, following a clash between two groups recently.
He is the sixth person to be apprehended by the police in the case.
According to sources, the Class X student from a government school in Thamarassery was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Tuesday and sent to the government observation home at Vellimadukunnu in Kozhikode city.
He was allowed to appear for the ongoing SSLC exams.
Meanwhile, activists of Kerala Students Union (KSU) and Muslim Students Federation (MSF) took out a march to the juvenile home on Wednesday in protest against allowing the students implicated in the case to appear for the SSLC examination.
