AAP corners BJP over ‘delay’ in approving ₹2,500 aid to women

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday took on the ruling BJP for “moving at a snail’s pace” in approving the Mahila Samman Yojana, the ₹2,500 monthly aid that the latter had promised to women in the run-up to the Assembly poll. Atishi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modiji had guaranteed that on March 8, the first instalment of ₹2,500 will be credited to the accounts of all women in Delhi. Will this guarantee of Modiji be fulfilled, or will it once again prove to be a ‘jumla’?”

AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar said, “AAP will continue to fight for women until the BJP fulfils its promise.”
